After defeating Phat Soda of Cambodia at “ONE: Total Victory,” Adrian Matheis, 24, of Indonesia defeated Eddy “The Clown” Kalai of Malaysia at “ONE: Global Superheroes.” Both fights ended via rear-naked choke submission.
On January 26, 2018, Matheis fought his seventh bout as a professional MMA fighter at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. His flyweight match against Kalai was the first match of the evening at “ONE: Global Superheroes,” which lasted for 4 minutes and 15 seconds only.
Matheis made a successful professional MMA debut on August 26, 2016 at “ONE: Titles and Titans” preliminary fight night in Jakarta, Indonesia. He defeated his fellow Indonesian fighters Roso Nugroho and Rustam Hutajulu both via knockout in the first round.
When Matheis returned to the ONE Championship cage on January 14, 2017, he had his first loss as a professional MMA fighter. Rene “D’ Challenger” Catalan, 39, of the Philippines submitted him via armlock in the second round at “ONE: Quest for Power” in Jakarta.
After Catalan, Matheis also lost to his next opponents, Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai and Dejdamrong “Kru Rong” Sor Amnuarysirichoke, 39, who are both from Thailand. Matheis was knocked out by Kongsrichai at “ONE: Warrior Kingdom” in Bangkok, Thailand on March 11, 2017 and by Amnuarysirichoke at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes” in Kallang, Singapore on May 26, 2017 both in the first round.
On September 16, 2017, Matheis ended his losing streak by defeating Soda at “ONE: Total Victory” in Jakarta. After defeating Kalai at “ONE: Global Superheroes,” Matheis now has 4 wins and 3 losses.
