Crisanto “The Slugger” Pitpitunge, 31, was supposed to make his Brave Combat Federation debut in 2016 but it was thwarted by an injury. In 2018, his contract with the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion was finally made official.

On March 2, 2018, Pitpitunge will face Jalal Al Daaja of Jordan at “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises” at the King Hussien Sports City in Amman, Jordan. They will compete in the bantamweight division in the preliminary card.

Hailing from Baguio City, Philippines, Pitpitunge is from one of the top MMA teams in Asia, Team Lakay. He was the first Filipino fighter to be offered a contract with Brave CF and was scheduled to fight in the promotion’s inaugural event “Brave CF 1: The Beginning” on September 23, 2016.

But because an injury hindered Pitpitunge from fighting, he was replaced by Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 22, who is also from Team Lakay. On November 17, 2017, Loman became the first Brave CF Bantamweight Champion after defeating Gary Mangat, 31, of Canada at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain.

Also in the fight card of “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions” was Jeremy Pacatiw, Pitpitunge and Loman’s fellow Team Lakay fighter. Pacatiw lost to Al Daaja via a first-round knockout.

Aside from being a former PXC Bantamweight World Champion, Pitpitunge is also a police officer. He made a successful professional MMA debut by defeating Lloyd Faruden on March 7, 2009  but lost to Mark “Mugen” Striegl, 29, in his second bout on February 19, 2011.

Pitpitunge’s most recent bout took place on November 10, 2017 at “Team Lakay Championship 14: Battle for Dominance,” where he knocked out Ralf Francisco. Currently, Pitpitunge has 9 wins and 5 losses while Al Daaja has 4 wins and 3 losses.

“Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises” will be headlined by featherweight contenders Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 24, of France and Jakub Kowalewicz, 24, of Poland and co-headlined by welterweight contenders Jarrah “Jordanian Lion” Hussein Al-Silawi, 26, of Jordan and David Bear, 27, of France. Pitpitunge is the only fighter from the Philippines in the fight card.
