After a successful career as a kickboxer, Krisna Limbaga, 28, of the Philippines will make her ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Quest for Gold” on February 23, 2018 at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. She will face Priscilla Hertati Lumban “Thathi” Gaol, 19, of Jakarta, Indonesia in the atomweight division in the preliminary card.
The challenge of entering the mixed martial arts world seems to be inevitable for Limbaga, who is always looking for something to improve as a competitor and as a person. She stated, “It’s an honor to represent the Philippines and to showcase my skills inside the cage.”
The Filipino lady fighter is focused on learning all the disciplines that are necessary in her new martial arts journey. In deep training for her cage encounter with Gaol, Limbaga said, “I’m getting better, getting stronger and learning more as day goes by.”
“My training camp is progressing very well,” Limbaga said. “I’ve had to learn how to mix up the different martial arts and how to put it all together into cohesive movements and strategies.”
Limbaga hails from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. Currently, she is a resident of Marikina City, Metro Manila.
There are two Filipino fighters in the “ONE: Quest for Gold” fight card. The other one is Cebu native Roel “Akiyama” Rosauro, 29, who will face Li Kai Wen, 22, of China in the featherweight division.
“ONE: Quest for Gold” will be headlined by ONE Middleweight World Champion La N Sang “The Burmese Python” Aung, 32, of Myanmar and Alexandre “Bebezao” Machado, 35, of Brazil. They will compete for the vacant ONE Light Heavyweight World Championship title.
