Bozhena Antoniyar and Shwe Sin were the first fighters to enter the ONE Championship cage at “ONE: Quest for Gold” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on February 23, 2018. The two lady fighters from Myanmar battled it out in the atomweight division.
The match between Antoniyar and Sin was a short one. Referee Kemp Cheng ended the bout at 0:24 of Round 1 and declared Antoniyar the winner via technical knockout via strikes.
In the post-fight interview inside the cage, Mitch Chilson could not help but praise Antoniyar’s amazing finish. When asked how she was feeling, she said through a translator that she was very happy.
Chilson also asked Antoniyar what she wanted next. The latter simply said she wanted to get to the top.
To get to the top, Antoniyar will have to face several lady fighters of ONE Championship including Mei Yamaguchi. To be on top, the Burmese fighter will have to dethrone ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee.
There were only two bouts in the preliminary card at “ONE: Quest for Gold.” The bout between Antoniyar and Sin was followed by another atomweight bout between Priscilla Hertati Lumban “Thathie” Gaol of Indonesia and Krisna “Phoenix” Limbaga of the Philippines.
In the second bout in the preliminary card, Gaol submitted Limbaga via armbar. Referee Kemp Cheng ended the match at 4:05 of Round 1.
