Burmese mixed martial artists Saw Min Min, 18, and Ye Thway Ne, 20, competed in the flyweight division at “ONE: Quest for Gold” n front of their countrymen at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on February 23, 2018. The two ONE Championship fighters were neck and neck during the three five-minute rounds.

In an intense striking showcase, Ye and Saw battled each other in a tremendous three-round war to the delight of a raucous crowd enjoying all the action. The two traded their best offense at the center of the ONE Championship cage for 15 minutes in one of the most exciting striking battles of the evening.

In the end, Ye was declared the winner via split decision. It was the second time he defeated Saw in a professional MMA bout.

On November 3, 2017, Saw entered the cage as an undefeated fighter with 2 wins and 0 loss at “ONE: Hero’s Dream” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium. His opponent was Ye, who emerged victorious via knockout at 3:50 of Round 1.

Saw made his ONE Championship debut on June 30, 2017 at “ONE: Light of a Nation” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium. He defeated two opponents, who are both from Myanmar, in one event.

At “ONE: Light of a Nation,” Saw knocked out Kyar Ba Hein via punches in the first round. The former then submitted Kyaung Thar Shwe via guillotine choke in the first round.

On the other hand, Ye’s ONE Championship bout took place on May 27, 2016 at “ONE: Kingdom of Champions” at the Impact Arena in Muangthong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. He lost to Pongsiri Mitsatit of Thailand via technical knockout via knees.

Ye had his first win as a professional MMA fighter and as a ONE Championship fighter at “ONE: Light of a Nation”. He defeated Pat Kyaw Lin Naing via unanimous decision.
