Brazil’s Luis Santos earns his fourth ONE Championship win

With a professional record of 64 wins and 10 losses, Luis “Sapo” Santos is one of the most experienced fighters of ONE Championship today. But under the promotion, he has fought six bouts only.

Santos made his ONE Championship debut on November 7, 2014 at “ONE: Battle of Lions” where he submitted Bakhtiyar Abbasov via punches. When Santos returned to the cage of the promotion on April 24, 2015, his bout with Ben Askren ended in No Contest due to eye poke.

On February 20, 2016, Santos won his second ONE Championship bout. He knocked out Rafael Silva via knee and soccer kicks at “ONE: Tribe of Warriors.”

The third time Santos won a ONE Championship bout was on August 27, 2016. He won against Igor Svirid via unanimous decision at “ONE: Titles and Titans.”

On May 26, 2017, Santos lost inside the ONE Championship cage for the first time. He was knocked out by Zebaztian Kadestam via knees at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes.”

On March 9, 2018, Santos earned his 64th win as a professional MMA fighter, which is also his fourth win under the ONE Championship banner. He defeated Kiamrian  Abbasov via unanimous decision at “ONE: Visions of Victory,” which took place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

After losing to Santos, Abbasov now has 18 wins and 4 losses. “ONE: Visions of Victory” marked his ONE Championship debut.

“ONE: Visions of Victory” was headlined by hometown hero Gianni Subba, 25, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Filipino-Australian Reece “Lightning” McLaren, 26, of Australia.
