Riski “King Kong” Umar of Indonesia entered the cage at “ONE: Visions of Victory” as an undefeated professional mixed martial artist. ONE Championship held the event at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the evening of March 9, 2018.

Umar faced Khon Sichan of Cambodia in the first bout of the evening. They battled it out at a catch weight of 62.5kg.

The two gave fans three gruelling rounds of maximum effort. After an intense exchange of striking and grappling, it was Sichan who was able to pull away slightly on the scorecards to win via split decision.

This is Sichan’s first win in ONE Championship. He made his promotional debut on December 5, 2015 at “ONE: Kingdom of Khmer” at the Koh Pich Theatre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he was submitted by his fellow Cambodian fighter Sim Bunsrun at 4:55 of Round 1.

Beating Umar improved Sichan’s professional MMA record to 3 wins and 3 losses. The Cambodian MMA fighter now has 2 wins and 1 loss.

On September 16, 2017, Umar made his ONE Championship debut at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonessia at “ONE: Total Victory,” which also marked his professional MMA debut. He knocked out his fellow Indonesian fighter Adi Nugroho via punches at 2:00 of Round 1.

On January 20, 2018, Umar returned to the ONE Championship cage at the Jakarta Convention Center. He knocked out his fellow Indonesian fighter Eka “Egi Rozten” Aprilianto, 29, via punches at 4:20 of Round 1.
