Jenel Lausa vs Ashkan Mokhtarian at ‘UFC Fight Night 132’

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold “UFC Fight Night 132” in Singapore on June 23, 2018. The full fight card has yet to be announced but among the expected matches is a flyweight bout between Jenel “The Demolition Man” Lausa, 29, of the Philippines and Ashkan “The Assassin” Mokhtarian, 32, of Australia.

“UFC Fight Night 132” will be Lausa’s fourth UFC fight. He made his promotional debut on November 26, 2016 at “UFC Fight Night: Whitaker vs. Brunson,” which took place in Melbourne, Australia on November 26, 2016.

At “UFC Fight Night: Whitaker vs. Brunson,” Lausa won via unanimous decision over Yao Zhikui, 27, of China. It was Lausa’s fight and still the only win under the UFC banner.

Lausa has yet to follow up his UFC win. He lost to Magomed “Chaborz” Bibulatov, 29, of Russia at “UFC 210” on April 8, 2017 in Buffalo, New York and to Eric Shelton, 27, of the United States at “UFC Fight Night: Werdum vs. Tybura” on November 19, 2017 in Sydney, Australia.

Both of Lausa’s loss to Bibulatov and Shelton were via unanimous decision. The Filipino fighter’s current professional MMA record is 7 wins and 3 losses.

On the other hand, Mokhtarian currently holds a professional MMA record of 13 wins and 3 losses. “UFC Fight Night 132” will be his third UFC fight.

Mokhtarian has yet to win a UFC fight. The Iranian-Australian fighter lost to his first two opponents under the promotion namely John Moraga, 33, and Ryan “Baby Face” Benoit, 28, who are both from the U.S.

Moraga defeated Mokhtarian via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Hunt” on June 11, 2017 in Auckland, New Zealand. After this, Mokhtarian was knocked out by Benoit via head kick at “UFC Fight Night: Werdum vs. Tybura.”

Aside from the flyweight bout between Lausa and Mokhtarian, a women’s strawweight bout has also been confirmed to be included in the “UFC Fight Night 132” fight card. It will be between Nadia Kassem, 22, of Australia and “Fury” Xiaonan Yan, 28, of China.
