Kajan Johnson vs Stevie Ray at ‘UFC Fight Night 127’





On March 17, 2018, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold its ninth event in 2018 titled “UFC Fight Night 127.” On the preliminary card, there will be two lightweight bouts, one of which is between Kajan “Ragin’” Johnson, 33, of Canada and Stevie “Braveheart” Ray, 27, of Scotland.

“UFC Fight Night 127” will mark Johnson’s fifth UFC bout. When he made his promotional debut on June 14, 2014 at “UFC 174” in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, he was knocked out by Tae Hyun “Supernatural” Bang, 34, of South Korea via punch.

Johnson came back stronger in his second UFC bout. On May 16, 2015, he defeated “The Warrior” Zhang Lipeng, 27, via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night 66” in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The win over Zhang was followed by two more victories for Johnson. He defeated Naoyuki Kotani, 36, of Japan via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night 75” in Saitama, Japan on September 27, 2015 and Adriano Martins, 35, of Brazil via knockout via punch at “UFC 215” in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on September 9, 2017.

Currently, Johnson holds a record of 22 wins, 12 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Ray has 21 wins and 7 losses.

Out of Ray’s seven bouts inside the UFC cage, he won five times. “UFC Fight Night 127” will mark his eighth bout under the promotion.

Ray defeated his first three UFC opponents namely Marcin “Bomba” Bandel, of Poland, Leonardro “Macarrao” Mafra, 28, of Brazil and Michael “Ragnar” Lebout, 30, of France. On September 24, 2016 at “UFC Fight Night 95,” Ray lost inside the UFC cage for the first time when the judges determined his opponent Alan “Nuguette” Patrick, 34, of Brazil as the winner via unanimous decision.

On July 16, 2017, Ray had his second UFC loss when he was knocked out by Paul “The Irish Dragon” Felder, 33, via elbows at “UFC Fight Night 113.” Before losing to Felder, Ray defeated Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson, 33, of England via split decision at “UFC Fight Night 99” on November 19, 2016 and Joe “J-Lau” Lauzon, 33, of the United States via majority decision at “UFC Fight Night 108.”

Taking place at the O2 Arena in London, England, “UFC Fight Night 127” will be headlined by heavyweight contenders Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 40, of Brazil and Alexander “Drago” Volkov, 29, of Russia. Here is a teaser for the event:
