Rika “Tindydoll” Ishige, 28, of Thailand will face Angelie Sabnal, 28, of the Philippines at “ONE: Iron Will,” which will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on March 24, 2018. The latter will be the third Filipino opponent of the former.
On August 5, 2017, Ishige had her first loss as a professional mixed martial artist. She was submitted by Jomary Torres, 21, of the Philippines via rear-naked choke in the second round at “ONE: Warriors of the World.”
Coming from a first-time loss, Ishige redeemed herself at “ONE: Warriors of the World” on December 9, 2017. She submitted Rome “The Rebel” Trinidad, of the Philippines via rear-naked choke in the second round.
Ishige seeks to continue her winning ways as she is slated to square off with Sabnal after reinserting her name into the winner’s column by submitting Trinidad. The Thai-Japanese fighter does not expect any problems continuing her venture into the constantly-growing world of martial arts as she believes that she is fully fortified with the task at hand.
“I have progressed a lot so far in my young career,” Ishige said. “The possibilities are endless for me, and I will continue to work hard to make my family and my fans proud.”
“ONE: Iron Will” will be Ishige’s fifth bout as a ONE Championship fighter and as a professional MMA fighter. On the other hand, it will be Sabnal’s professional MMA and promotional debut.
Hailing from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, Sabnal of is a former Muay Thai practitioner who makes her professional cage debut. She is a national Muay Thai silver medalist who hones her wide array of skills with other great homegrown talents at Mindanao Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts.
