‘UFC Fight Night 127’ fight card: Mark Godbeer vs Dmitriy Sosnovskiy

On March 17, 2018, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold its ninth event in 2018 titled “UFC Fight Night 127.” There will be two heavyweight matches on the fight card, one of which is on the preliminary card while the other is the main event.

The heavyweight match on the preliminary card is between Mark “The Hand Of” Godbeer, 34, of Somerset, England and Dmitriy “Wicked Machine” Sosnovskiy, 28, of Moscow, Russia. It will mark the Russian contender’s UFC debut.

Sosnovskiy is an undefeated fighter with 10 wins, which he won either in Ukraine or in Russia. “UFC Fight Night 127” will mark not only his promotional debut but also his comeback inside the cage and his first time to fight in England.

The last time Sosnovskiy fought was on May 16, 2015. He knocked out Oleg Gapchenko via punches at “OFS: Octagon Fighting Sensation 4” in Yaroslavl, Russia.

In 2017, Sosnovskiy was supposed to fight Justin “El Blanco” Ledet, 29, of the United States at “UFC Fight Night 104” but it was cancelled. Their match was rescheduled at “UFC Fight Night116” but it was cancelled again.

On the other hand, “UFC Fight Night 127 will mark Godbeer’s fourth UFC bout. He made his promotional debut on November 19, 2016 at “UFC Fight Night 99” and lost to Ledet via rear-naked choke submission.

After losing to Ledet, Godbeer won two UFC bouts against two fighters from the U.S. The fighter from Somerset, England defeated Daniel “Daddy Long Legs” Spitz, 27, at “UFC 209” on March 4, 2017 and Walt Harris at “UFC 217” on November 4, 2017.

Taking place at the O2 Arena in London, England, “UFC Fight Night 127” will be headlined by heavyweight contenders Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 40, of Brazil and Alexander “Drago” Volkov, 29, of Russia. Here is a teaser for the event:
