Bangkok, Thailand native Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai, 29, has become a staple in sensational and memorable battles inside the ONE Championship cage. In his most recent bout, he had his second loss in his career as a professional mixed martial artist.
“ONE Championship always offers me a suitable and exciting opponent,” Wiratchai said. “I always want to show that I’m the better one in every match-up they make.”
Shannon Wiratchai vs Rahul Raju
On December 9, 2017, Wiratchai lost to Rasul Yakhyaev of Grozny, Chechnya, Russia via unanimous decision at “ONE: Warriors of the World” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. At the same venue, the Thai MMA fighter is returning to the ONE Championship cage facing Rahul Raju of India at “ONE: Iron Will” on March 24, 2018.
“Every fight is a challenge,” Wiratchai stated. “It is another step to my dream to be one of the best in the world.”
While Wiratchai was not able to give his countrymen a sweet victory in his last bout in Bangkok, for him, competing in front of his hometown fans is always a great pleasure. He guaranteed, “I have been working very hard to get back on the winning track. I will showcase my best skills in this bout and take home the win for Thailand.”
With a professional MMA record of 8 wins, 2 losses and 1 No Contest, Wiratchai vowed that he will not shy away from his electrifying cage demeanor in his three-round lightweight meeting against Raju. The latter is making his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Iron Will”, which will be headlined by Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes of Brazil and Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen of Vietnam.
“Surely, there will be fireworks,” Wiratchai declared. “Bangkok, be ready. I am bringing the action right to you.”
There are 11 MMA bouts on the card. The lightweight match between Wiratchai and Raju will be the ninth bout of the evening.
