On March 17, 2018, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold its ninth event in 2018 titled “UFC Fight Night 127” at the O2 Arena in London, England. It will be the 10th UFC event to take place in London.

There are three welterweight matches on the fight card, two of which are on the preliminary card while one is on the main card. One of the two welterweight bouts on the preliminary card is between Jack “The Hammer” Marshman, 28, of Abertillery, South Wales and Brad “Bear” Scott, 28, of Somerset, England.

This will be the fifth UFC bout of Marshman. He made his promotional debut at “UFC Fight Night 99” on November 19, 2016 in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he knocked out Magnus “Jycken” Cedenblad, 35, of Sweden via punches.

Originally, Marshman was scheduled to fight Elizeu “Capoiera” Zaleski dos Santos, 31, of Brazil at “UFC Fight Night 127.” However, the latter had a kneed injury so he was forced out of the competition.

While “UFC Fight Night 127” marks Marshman’s fifth UFC bout, it will Scott’s eighth bout under the promotion.  Scott made his promotional debut on December 15, 2012 at “UFC on Fox 6” in Queensland, Australia where he lost to Robert Whittaker via unanimous decision.

Marshman and Scott have a close relationship but this will have no bearing on how they perform during their upcoming fight, according to the latter. Scott told Wiltshire Times that he and Marshman have known each other “since the beginning.”

“We’ve been on the same circuit and the same fight cards,” Scott said. “It’s weird that we’ve come together now to fight on the biggest stage in the world.”

“UFC Fight Night 127” will be headlined by heavyweight contenders Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 40, of Brazil and Alexander “Drago” Volkov, 29, of Russia. Here is a teaser for the event:
