Jimi Manuwa vs Jan Blachowicz rematch at ‘UFC Fight Night 127’

Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa, 38, of Morden, England won via unanimous decision when he faced Jan Blachowicz, 35, of Cieszyn, Poland on April 11, 2015 at “UFC Fight Night 64.” On March 17, 2018, the two will have their rematch at “UFC Fight Night 127” at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Manuwa made his UFC debut on September 29, 2012 at “UFC on Fuel TV 5.” He knocked out Kyle “Kingsbu” Kingsbury, 35, of California, United States via doctor stoppage in the second round.

From 2012 to 2017, Manuwa fought in the UFC cage 9 times, winning 6. Aside from Kingsbury and Blachowicz, Manuwa also defeated the late Ryan “The Big Deal” Jimmo of Canada, Cyrille “Snake” Diabate, 44, of France, Ovince “OSP” St. Preux, 34, Tennessee, USA and Corey “Overtime” Anderson, 28, of Illinois, USA.

The only three opponents Manuwa failed to defeat in the UFC cage are Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson, 31, of Sweden, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, 34, of Florida, USA and Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir, 28, of Switzerland. Currently, Manuwa holds a record of 17 wins and 3 losses.

While Manuwa is fighting in the UFC cage for the 10th time at “UFC Fight Night 64,” Blachowicz is fighting in the promotion for the ninth time. Blachowicz won 4 out of his 8 UFC bouts.

Currently, Blachowicz has 21 wins and 7 losses. He made a successful promotional debut on October 4, 2014 at “UFC Fight Night 53” where he knocked out Ilir “The Sledgehammer” Latifi, 34, of Sweden via kick to the body and punches.

Aside from Latifi, Blachowicz also defeated Igor “The Duke” Pokrajac, 39, of Croatia, Devin “Brown Bear” Clark, 29, of South Dakota, USA and Jared “The Killa Gorilla” Cannonier, 34, of Alaska, USA. After losing to Manuwa, Blachowicz also lost to Gustafsson, Anderson and Patrick “Durkin” Cummins, 37, of Pennsylvania, USA.

“UFC Fight Night 127” will be headlined by former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 40, a Brazilian fighting out of Los Angeles, California, and former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Alexander “Drago” Volkov, 29, of Moscow, Russia. Here is a teaser for the event:
