On March 15, 2018, ONE Championship held a worldwide media conference call for “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” featuring the headliners Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 21, of Singapore and her challenger Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi, 35, of Tokyo, Japan. Also on the call was ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, 47.

During the conference call, Lee and Yamaguchi expressed how confident they are on winning at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams.” On the other hand, they both emphasized how much they respect each other as martial artists.

Lee and Yamaguchi first fought on May 6, 2016 at “ONE: Ascent to Power” where the former won and became the first and still the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion. They were originally scheduled to have their highly anticipated rematch on November 24, 2017 at “ONE: Immortal Pursuit” but the former was injured in a car accident in Hawaii weeks prior to the competition so she had to pull out.

At “ONE: Immortal Pursuit,” Gina “Conviction” Iniong, 28, of the Philippines replaced Lee. Via unanimous decision, the Filipino contender lost to Yamaguchi, who is finally having a rematch with Lee at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams.”

Both Sityodtong and Lee believe that “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” will not be like “ONE: Ascent to Power.” Out of Lee’s 8 wins, only one was via unanimous decision, which was the one against Yamaguchi.

For Lee, her rematch with Yamaguchi will not go to a decision.  For, the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion, one of the main reasons why the fans really asked for this rematch is because she and Yamaguchi are basically the combination of their passion and their skills in the cage.

“I think we show in everyone the values of mixed martial arts and we’re going to, I think, need to display that in our next bout,” Lee stated. She added that she and Yamaguchi have “a great deal of respect for each other.”

Lee is really young but she is such a great athlete with many fans, as Yamaguchi described her. For the Japanese fighter, the reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion is a star.

“ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” will take place on May 18, 2018 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Here is a clip featuring Lee and her fellow champions of ONE Championship:
