On April 21, 2017, Gina Iniong and fellow Team Lakay fighters Eduard Folayang, Honorio Banario, Kevin Belingon and Danny Kingad emerged victorious at “ONE: Kings of Destiny.” It marked Iniong’s ONE Championship debut.

When Iniong returned to the cage on November 10, 2017 at “ONE: Legends of the World,” she knocked out Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol. Just 14 days later, Iniong accepted the offer to fight again.

ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee was scheduled to defend her title from Mei Yamaguchi at “ONE: Immortal Pursuit” on November 24, 2017 but the former had to pull out of the bout after an car accident injury. Iniong stepped in to replace Lee as Yamaguchi’s opponent.

It was a rematch between Iniong and Yamaguchi. On March 29, 2014, the Team Lakay fighter defeated the Japanese contender via split decision at “PXC: Pacific Xtreme Combat 43.”

At “ONE: Immortal Pursuit,” Iniong lost to Yamaguchi via unanimous decision. It is Iniong’s first loss in the ONE Championship cage.

Iniong is looking forward to redeeming herself as she is set to face Jenny Huang at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” on April 20, 2018. On the other hand, the rematch between Lee and Yamaguchi is finally taking place “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” on May 18, 2018.

If Iniong and Yamaguchi win at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” and “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams,” respectively, it is not unlikely for ONE Championship to schedule their second rematch. During the worldwide media conference call on March 15, 2018, both Lee and Yamaguchi were asked if they are looking forward to competing against whoever wins between Iniong and Huang at “ONE: Heroes of Honor.”

“That’s actually not up to us to decide,”Lee said. She emphasized that she and Yamaguchi are 100 percent focused on their next bout with each other.

“I really don’t like to look ahead and plan for my next opponent,” the reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion said. “I don’t have the power to do that anyway. But (I am) always staying prepared at all times because as a champion, you have to be ready and willing to face everyone in the division.”

Yamaguchi was also on the same page. She explained, “I’m really concentrating on the fight in May, too, so I haven’t thought about that but well, if I get the title, I welcome anyone.  I can fight anyone.”

“ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Here is a clip featuring Lee and her fellow champions of ONE Championship:
