On March 24, 2018, Vietnamese-Australian Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, will make an attempt to become the first ever three-division world champion of ONE Championship at “ONE: Iron Will.” On the undercard, four fighters will represent the Philippines, which is home to some of the best athletes of the promotion.
Hailing from Cagayan de Oro City, Angelie Sabanal, 28, will make her ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Iron Will.” She will compete in the atomweight division against Thai-Japanese crowd favorite Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 28.
The bout between Sabanal and Ishige is the only female match on the “ONE: Iron Will” card. It will be the fourth bout on the main card.
The first bout on the main card is a lightweight bout between Richard “Notorious” Corminal,35, a Malaysia-based fighter originally from Manila, and American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Garry Tonon, 26, who is making his mixed martial arts debut. If Tonon loses, it will mark Corminal’s first win in the promotion.
In the fourth and last bout on the preliminary card, Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan, 27, from Iloilo City will face the former opponent of his brother Rabin Catalan. Robin will compete in the strawweight division against his Thai opponent Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai, 26, who defeated Rabin at “ONE: Warriors of the World” on December 9, 2017.
Right before the main event, Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado, 25, from Albay will battle it out with Muay Thai legend Dejdamrong Sor Amnuarysirichoke, 39, of Thailand in the strawweight division. Like Corminal, Miado is entering the ONE Championship cage for the third time and is aiming for his first win in the promotion.
In the main event, Nguyen will challenge reigning ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes, 37, of Brazil. Here is a teaser for the upcoming event:
