ONE Championship fighters Hisyam “Zephyrus” Samsudin, 27, of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia and “The Terminator” Sunoto Peringkat, 32, of Jakarta, Indonesia battled it out at “ONE: Iron Will” on March 24, 2018 in the bantamweight division. Leaning on his impeccable grappling, the Indonesian mixed martial artist burned out his Malaysian opponent.

Sunoto consistently brought Samsudin to the canvas and controlled the action with crisp ground strikes. With a dominant top game, the Indonesian MMA fighter notched his second consecutive victory in 2018, defeating his Malaysian opponent.

All three judges saw the bout in favor of Sunoto to win by unanimous decision. Refereed by Kemp Cheng, the bantamweight bout was the first bout of the evening.

Headlined by Martin Nguyen and Bibiano Fernandes, “ONE: Iron Will” took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It marked the third fight of Samsudin in ONE Championship and Sunoto’s ninth bout in the promotion.

Samsudin made his promotional debut on September 2, 2016. He lost to his fellow Malaysian Muhammad Aiman at “ONE: Unbreakable Warriors” via unanimous decision.

When Samsudin returned to the ONE Championship cage, he had his first win in the promotion. He knocked out Jeremy Meciaz via knees and punches at “ONE: Total Victory.”

After “ONE: Iron Will,” Samsudin now has 2 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Sunoto now has 8 wins and 3 losses.

Sunoto made his promotional debut on April 24, 2015. He lost to Wang Ya Wei at “ONE: Valor of Champions” via punches.

On September 27, 2015, Sunoto won at “ONE: Odyssey of Champions” via unanimous decision over Mario Satya Wirawan. It was Sunoto’s first win in the promotion.

After Wirawan, Sunoto defeated Burn Soriano, Yohan Mulia Legowo, Chan Heng and Rin Saroth in the ONE Championship cage. The other fighters who defeated Sunoto in the promotion aside from Wang are Ming Yen Sung and Edward Kelly.
