The 2018 Major League Baseball season will start on March 29, 2018. In time for this, Marshall Bruce “Eminem” Mathers III collaborated with Detroit Tigers for a limited edition jersey.
The limited edition Eminem-Detroit Tigers jersey is not yet available but fans are encouraged to register early before it sells out. For early access, they can go to Eminem’s website.
Also on March 29, 2018, Eminem took to Facebook to share a photo of the limited edition apparel printed on a classic Detroit Tigers jersey. It has number 8 on it, which apparently recalls his hip hop drama film “8 Mile.”
Currently, the active players of the Detroit Tigers are Matthew Boyd, Michael Fulmer, Francisco Liriano, Daniel Norris, Jordan Zimmermann, Buck Farmer, Joe Jimenez, Warwich Saupold, Daniel Stumpf, Drew VerHagen, Alex Wilson, Shane Greene, John Hicks, James McCann, Miguel Cabrera, Jeimer Candelario, Niko Goodrum, Jose Iglesias, Dixon Machado, Nicholas Castellanos, JaCoby Jones, Mikie Mahtook, Leonys Martin, Victor Reyes and Victor Martinez. The team’s manager is Ron Gardenhire.
Like the Detroit Tigers, Eminem considers Detroit, Michigan a home. In 2002, the rapper starred in “8 Mile,” which was filmed mostly on location in Detroit.
Distributed by Universal Pictures, “8 Mile” was directed by the late Curtis Hanson. Among Eminem’s co-stars were Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, Anthony Mackie, Michael Shannon, Eugene Byrd, Taryn Manning, Chloe Greenfield and the late Brittany Murphy.
On December 15, 2017, Eminem released his ninth studio album titled “Revival”. It has 19 tracks including “River” featuring Ed Sheeran.
