Burgundy is not often mentioned as someone’s favorite color. But there are men who, at one point of their lives, wore burgundy and looked great in them.
- Jack Nicholson
Throughout Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror film “The Shining,” Nicholson’s character Jack Torrance wore a burgundy corduroy jacket. Kubrick’s former assistant and longtime friend Emilio D’Alessandro is giving the actor’s fans the chance to own a piece of the film’s history including the jacket via Italian auction house Aste Bolaffi.
From 1970 to 2003, Nicholson received 12 Academy Award nominations, winning three. His most recent film role is Charles Madison in the 2010 romantic comedy-drama “How Do You Know.”
- Ben Affleck
In 2013, Affleck was spotted by Daily Mail wearing burgundy trousers paired with a grey sweatshirt while getting coffee at a neighborhood café with Jennifer Garner. The two got married in 2005 but filed for divorce in 2017.
Affleck won Best Original Screenplay for “Good Will Hunting” at the Academy Awards 1997. In 2012, “Argo,” which he directed, won Best Picture.
- Chris Hemworth
In 2014, Hemsworth attended the Academy Awards with his wife Elsa Pataky, who was very pregnant at the time. The “Thor” star wore a burgundy tuxedo.
Hemsworth first played Thor Odinson in the 2011 film “Thor.” He is set to reprise the role in “Avengers: Infinity War,” which will hit theaters on April 27, 2018.
- Nick Jonas
In 2015, Jonas attended the Billboard Music Awards wearing a burgundy suit. He was with his girlfriend Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo.
Jonas is currently filming “Chaos Walking,” in which he plays Davy Prentiss Jr. Set to be released on March 1, 2019, the sci-fi action thriller also stars Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, Mads Mikkelsen, Demian Bichir, Kurt Sutter and David Oyelowo.
- Lee Dong Wook
For the cover of the March 2018 issue of Elle Taiwan, South Korean actor Lee Dong Wook lies down on a white bed. He is wearing a mint green shirt and a red jacket paired with burgundy pants.
Lee is currently dating Bae Suzy. The former is set to play Ye Jin-Woo in “Life,” a TV series scheduled to premiere on JTBC in July 2018.
