Nine-time International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) World Championship gold medalist Bruno Malfacine of Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will make his Brave Combat Federation debut at “Brave 11”. He will compete in the flyweight division against Rafael Pereira of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.
Malfacine is one of the greatest competitors in Jiu-Jitsu history. With nine IBJJF World Championship gold medals, he has four IBJJF Pan American titles, surpassing the world championships gold medal record established by Omar Salum in 2000.
As an MMA fighter, Malfacine has 1 win and 0 loss. When he made his MMA debut on August 27, 2017 at “Shooto- Brazil 74,” he submitted Romario Garcia via armbar.
On the other hand, Pereira currently has 5 wins and 2 losses. In his most recent bout, which took place on December 2, 2017 at “FMMAMG- Federacao Fight 6,” he lost to Flavio dos Santos via split decision.
The last time Pereira won inside the cage was on July 1, 2017. He won via majority decision at “FMMAMG- Federacao Fight 4” over Jonas Fragoso.
“Brave 11” will take place at the Mineirao Stadium Terrace in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil on April 13, 2018. This is the third event of the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion to take place in Brazil.
On March 28, 2017, the first Brave CF event to take place in Brazil titled “Brave 3: Battle in Brazil” took place at the Max Rosenmann Arena in São José dos Pinhais, Curitiba. The second one was “Brave 8: The Rise of Champions,” which took place at the Almir Nelson de Almeida (Taruma) Gymnasium in Curitaba.
