‘UFC 223’ fight card: Zabit Magomedsharipov vs Kyle Bochniak

On April 7, 2018, the Las Vegas-based mixed martial arts promotion Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) will hold “UFC 223” at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. One of the matches is a featherweight bout between Zabit Magomedsharipov, 27, and Kyle “Crash” Bochniak, 31.

Originally from Khasavyurt, Dagestan, Russia, Magomedsharipov is fighting out of Toms River, New Jersey. He is a former featherweight champion of the Russian MMA, kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotion Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB).

Magomedsharipov made his UFC debut on September 2, 2017 at “UFC Fight Night 115.” He submitted Mike Santiago via rear-naked choke in the second round.

For the second time, Magomedsharipov fought in the UFC cage on November 25, 2017. He submitted Sheymon Moraes via anaconda choke in the third round at “UFC Fight Night 122.”

If Magomedsharipov wins at “UFC 223,” it will be his third UFC win. Overall, he currently has 14 wins and 1 loss.

On the other hand, Bochniak currently holds a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. He is fighting out of Boston, Massachusetts.

When Bochniak made his UFC debut on January 17, 2016 at “UFC Fight Night 81,” he lost to Charles Rosa via unanimous decision. On August 27, 2016, Bochniak returned to the UFC cage and defeated Enrique Barzola via split decision at “UFC on Fox 21.”

In the UFC cage, Bochniak has 2 wins and 2 losses. “UFC 223” will mark his fifth bout in the promotion.

The main event at “UFC 223” will be a title bout. Magomedsharipov’s fellow Dagestani Khabib Nurmagomedov will challenge reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson.

In the co-main event, UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas will defend her title from Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The latter is the former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion who lost her belt to the former.

Nurmagomedov is still an undefeated fighter with 25 wins while Ferguson has 23 wins and 3 losses. Namajunas has 7 wins and 3 losses while Jedrzejczyk has 14 wins and 1 loss.
