Glory Kickboxing held its third event in 2018 titled “Glory 52: Los Angeles” on March 31, 2018 at the Pacific Room in Los Angeles, California. The fourth match on the main card was a light heavyweight bout between Pavel “The Caiman” Zhuravlev of Ukraine and Myron “The Furure” Dennis of the United States.
The light heavyweight bout between Zhuravlev and Dennis was left in the hands of the judges. It was a unanimous decision in favor of the Ukranian contender.
After beating Dennis, Zhuravlev now has 72 wins and 11 losses overal. In Glory Kickboxing, he has 3 wins and 1 loss.
In Zhuravlev’s promotional debut at “Glory 32: Virginia” on July 22, 2016, he lost to Ariel Machado via unanimous decision. The Ukranian fighter redeemed himself by defeating Zinedine Hameur-Lain via technical knockout via punches at “Glory 35: Nice” on November 5, 2016 and Saulo Cavalaru via unanimous decision at “Glory 43: New York” on July 14, 2017.
A Nakhimov Naval Academy graduate, Zhuravlev is a lieutenant in the Ukranian navy. As a professional boxer, he has a record of 11 wins and 2 losses.
On the other hand, Dennis is a professional mixed martial artist with 14 wins and 7 losses. On February 9, 2016, he competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) cage at “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 23 Quarterfinals Day 2 where he lost to Andrew Sanchez via unanimous decision.
As a kickboxer, Dennis lost twice to Brian Collette in the Glory Kickboxing ring. The two first fought in the promotional debut of the former at “Glory 19: Virginia” on February 6, 2015 and during their rematch at “Glory 32: Virginia” on July 22, 2016.
Dennis now has 18 wins and 6 losses. He has yet to win in Glory Kickboxing.
“Glory 52: Los Angeles” was headlined by Glory Featherweight Champion Robin van Roosmalen of the Netherlands and Interim Glory Featherweight Champion Kevin VanNostrand of the United States. The Dutch fighter maintained his title after defeating his American opponent via unanimous decision.
In the co-main event of “Glory 52: Los Angeles,” Simon Marcus of Canada and Zack Wells of the United States competed in the middleweight division. The Canadian fighter defeated his American opponent via technical knockout via referee stoppage at 1:03 of Round 1.
