After a series of twists and turns, the “UFC 223” fight card is left with nine bouts including the main event and co-main event. The third bout on the preliminary card is between Evan Dunham, 36, and Olivier “The Quebec Kid” Aubin-Mercier, 29, who will compete in the lightweight division.

Fighting out of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, Dunham has fought 18 bouts inside the UFC cage, winning 11. His most recent bout, which was against Beneil “Benny” Dariush, 28, of Huntington Beach, California, USA at “UFC 216,” ended in a draw.
Before “UFC 216,” Dunham defeated Rodrigo Damm, 38, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson, 33, of Sunderland, England, Joe “J-Lau” Lauzon, 33, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and Rick “The Gladiator” Glenn, 28, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The last time Dunham won inside the cage was on July 16, 2014 at “UFC Fight Night 45” where he knocked out Edson “Junior” Barboza, 32, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The lightweight bout between Dunham and Aubin-Mercier at “UFC 223” marks the ninth bout of the latter in the promotion. Fighting out of Boucherville, Quebec, Canada, Aubin-Mercier holds a record of 10 wins and 2 losses.
When Aubin-Mercier made his promotional debut at “UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs Kennedy,” he lost to Chad “The Disciple” Laprise, 31, of Ontario, Canada via split decision. In Aubin-Mercier’s most recent bouts, he defeated Thibault Goutti, 31, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Drew Dober, 29, of Omaha, Nebraska and Tony Martin, 28, of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA on April 7, 2018, “UFC 223” will be headlined by Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, 29, of Dagestan, Russia and Al Iaquinta, 30, of New York City, New York. It will be co-headlined by reigning UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose “Thug” Namajunas, 25, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Joanna Jedrzejczyk, 30, of Olsztyn, Poland.
