Photographs of a mixed martial artist in handcuffs are not something fight fans often see. On April 6, 2018, photos of former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor, 29, of Dublin, Ireland in handcuffs circulated online.
On April 5, 2018, McGregor caused chaos at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York along with his friends, some of which are professional mixed martial artists like him. On the same day, he turned himself in to the police and spent the night in lockup.
When McGregor walked free from the courthouse, he was seen wearing a fitted dark blue collared shirt while leaving a police precinct in Brooklyn. He paired it with light-wash blue jeans and a pair of white sneakers.
Walking in handcuffs, McGregor was led by detectives out of the precinct and loaded him to the police car, which was a dark sedan. His buttoned shirt covered his neck tattoos while his sneakers had no shoelaces.
The shoes are a pair of YSL Jump Runner sneakers. They were laced when McGregor was transported to the courthouse earlier, according to Daily Mail.
Made in Italy, YSL Jump Runner sneakers have a leather upper and rubber sole. A pair of the Saint Laurent footwear costs $795, according to Ssense.
The brand of the jeans the Irish MMA fighter was wearing is undetermined. The shirt he was wearing is a navy blue cotton Tom Ford long sleeve polo shirt, which has 100 percent cotton composition.
Meanwhile, the chaos McGregor and his friends caused at the Barclays Center seemed to have boosted the ticket sales for “UFC 223.” While the Irish fighter did not go to jail, he lost his belt, which now belongs to undefeated Russian MMA fighter Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, 29.
