After going on hiatus for several months, Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 33, of the Philippines will return to the cage. Representing Team Lakay, he will face Kharun “Predator” Atlangeriev, 25, of Russia at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” in the lightweight division at the Singapore Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on May 18, 2018.
Atlangeriev is making his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams.” He is an undefeated fighter who defeated 11 Octagon Fighting Sensation (OFS) opponents namely Ruslan Abdurakhmnov, Amir Sattarov, Ahmat Ahmedov, Maxim Katkov, Roman Silchenko, Yuri Surikiv, Nikolay Putintsev, Kayratbek Imarcv, Franklin Fomewou, Mikie Robson and Andrey Kurbatov.
“ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” will mark Folayang’s 13th bout in ONE Championship. He is the former ONE Lightweight World Champion and is currently holding a record of 18 wins and 6 losses.
Headlining “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” are reigning Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee of Singapore and Mei “V.V.” Yamaguchi. It will be a rematch between the two female martial artists.
There will be two co-main events. First, on the ONE Super Series card, Sam-a Gaiyanghadao of Thailand will compete against Sergio Wielzen of the Netherlands for the inaugural Muay Thai Flyweight World Championship.
Second, reigning ONE Featherweight and Lightweight Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen of Vietnam and Australia will defend one of his two belts against Christian “The Warrior” Lee, the younger brother of Angela. Nguyen and Christian will compete for the ONE Featherweight World Championship.
It was Nguyen who took the ONE Lightweight World Champion belt from Folayang on November 10, 2017 at “ONE: Legends of the World” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was Folayang’s most recent bout prior to “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams.”
Including Folayang, only two fighters from the Philippines are on the “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” card. Filipino fighter Roel Rosauro will compete in the bantamweight division against Sunoto of Indonesia.
Meanwhile, here is reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang weighing in between Folayang and Nguyen prior to the “ONE: Legends of the World” fight night:
