'ONE: Unstoppable Dreams' fight card

While Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen of Vietnam and Australia made history as the first ever two-division world champion of ONE Championship on November 10, 2017, many fight fans were devastated when Eduard “Landslide” Folayang of the Philippines lost his belt to his Vietnamese-Australian opponent. Six months after the historic bout, the Filipino martial arts hero is returning to the cage, his first step towards reclaiming his title.

Folayang is scheduled to compete at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Singapore Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on May 18, 2018. The top fighter of Baguio City’s famed Team Lakay will face ONE Championship debutante Kharun “Predator” Atlangeriev, 25, of Russia in the lightweight division.

Atlangeriev will be the 25th mixed martial artist to compete against Folayang in the cage.  The Russian contender is an undefeated fighter with 11 wins, all of which he earned in the cage of Russian MMA promotion Octagon Fighting Sensation (OFS).

On the other hand, Folayang currently has 18 wins and 6 losses. A former ONE Lightweight World Champion, he fought a total of 12 bouts in the promotion from 2012 to 2017, winning 8.

It was also at the Singapore Indoor Stadium where Folayang made his ONE Championship debut. On September 3, 2011, he defeated A-Sol Kwon of South Korea at “ONE Fighting Championship: Champion vs. Champion.”

Ev “E.T.” Ting of New Zealand and Malaysia was the most recent fighter to lose to Folayang. Aside from Kwon and Ting, the Team Lakay fighter also defeated Felipe Enomoto of Switzerland, Vincent “Magnivincent” Latoel of the Netherlands, Koketsu “No Face” Boku of Japan, Tetsuya Yamada of Japan, Adrian “The Hunter” Pang of Australia and Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki of Japan inside the ONE Championship cage.

The first ONE Championship opponent Folayang lost to was his fellow Filipino Ole “Iron Fist” Laursen. Aside from Laursen and Nguyen, Folayang also lost to Kamal “Prince of Persia” Shalorus of Iran and Timofey Nastyukhin of Russia in the promotion.

The lightweight bout between Folayang and Atlangeriev will be the second bout in the main card of “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams.” Here is a clip featuring the Team Lakay fighter:
