“UFC on Fox 29” took place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona on April 14, 2018. In the 11th bout of the evening, American female mixed martial artists Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson and Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey-Sanchez competed in the strawweight division.

Refereed by Chris Tognoni, the women’s strawweight bout between Waterson and Casey-Sanchez ended after three five-minute rounds. The judges ended with a split decision in favor of Waterson.

In the co-main event of “UFC on Fox 29,” Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit, 33, of Albuquerque, New Mexico competed against Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira, 30, of Tres Rios, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the welterweight division. Oliveira submitted Condit via guillotine choke at 3:17 of Round 2.

In the main event, Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier, 29, of Coconut Creek, Florida and Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje, 29, of Arvada, Colorado battled it out in the lightweight division. Referee Herb Dean ended the bout at 0:33 of Round 4 when Poirier submitted Gaethje via punches.
