ONE Championship has just announced that it has appointed Joseph Schooling, 22, as its exclusive ambassador, supporting his favorite athletes on social media or in person when his schedule permits. Lucky fans may get the chance to meet the Olympic gold medalist from Singapore.
“I am pleased to announce that ONE Championship has just named beloved Singaporean sports hero Joseph Schooling our Ambassador,” ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong stated. “ Joseph is a tremendous athlete, and a wonderful young man who embodies the true values of ONE Championship.”
“He is the perfect example of how, with hard work and dedication, we can achieve many great things,” Sityodtong said of Schooling. “I am very proud of this young man for what he has accomplished at such a young age, and happy for him to be a part of the growing ONE Championship family.”
The announcement of Schooling’s appointment as Ambassador of ONE Championship comes ahead of the blockbuster event “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams,” which takes place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on May 18, 2018. The card features an unprecedented three world title contests.
In the “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” main event, reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee of Singapore defends her title against Japanese veteran Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi. In the ONE Super Series co-main event, Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao of Evolve MMA in Singapore is set to face Sergio “The Samurai” Wielzen of the Netherlands for the inaugural ONE Super Series Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship.
In the second co-main event, reigning ONE Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen of Australia is set to defend his featherweight title against top contender Christian “The Warrior” Lee of Singapore.
