
Hailing from Dagestan, Russia, Akhmed Magomedov made his Brave Combat Federation debut on May 11, 2018 at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy,” the first event of Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion held in Southeast Asia. He competed in a catchweight bout against Anthony “The Archangel” Engelen, 32, of the Netherlands.
Magomedov submitted his Dutch opponent via rear-naked choke at 3: 12 of Round 2. This gives the Dagestani fighter his fourth professional MMA win.
After defeating Engelen at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy,” Magomedov now has 4 wins and 0 loss. Among the undefeated fighter’s fellow Dagestani MMA fighters are Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters Zabit Magomedsharipov, 27, Rustam Khabilov, 31, and reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, 27, as well as Eldar Eldarov, who headlined “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” with Brian Hooi of the Netherlands.
Like Magomedov, Engelen also made his Brave CF debut at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy.” After losing to Magomedov, Engelen now has 6 wins and 4 losses.
In the “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” co-main event, Tahar Hadbi of Algeria and Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al Selawe of Jordan competed in the welterweight division. The Jordanian contender won via unanimous decision and became the first ever MMA fighter to win five Brave CF bouts.
In the main event of the evening, Eldar Eldarov of Russia faced Brian Hooi of the Netherlands in the lightweight division. After three five-minute rounds, the Russian contender was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
