“The Believer” Jing Yi Chong of Malaysia faced a hometown opponent at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” on May 11, 2018 at the Balai Sarbini Hall, Jakarta, Indonesia. He and his Indonesian opponent Vincent “Jack Hammer” Majid competed in the light heavyweight division.
Both Jing and Majid entered the Brave CF cage as undefeated fighters at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy.” They also made their promotional debut in the same event.
Only Majid left the cage with his undefeated professional mixed martial arts record intact. Jing lost to the hometown hero via unanimous decision.
After defeating Jing, Majid now has 5 wins and 0 loss. The four fighters Majid defeated prior to “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” were Eugenio Tan, Gusfi Ranu, Muhammed Rohaily Bin Rosly and Anthony Pajouw.
On the other hand, Jing now has 2 wins and 1 loss. Before losing to Majid, the Malaysian fighter defeated Man Kong Chan and Jun Abulog.
“Brave 12: KHK Legacy” also marked Jing’s professional MMA comeback. He went on hiatus after defeating Abulog on March 30, 2013.
In the “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” co-main event, Tahar Hadbi of Algeria and Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al Selawe of Jordan competed in the welterweight division. The Jordanian contender won via unanimous decision and became the first ever MMA fighter to win five Brave CF bouts.
In the main event of the evening, Eldar Eldarov of Russia faced Brian Hooi of the Netherlands in the lightweight division. After three five-minute rounds, the Russian contender was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
