Undefeated Indonesian MMA fighter Stefer Rahardian earns 7th ONE Championship win at ‘ONE: Grit and Glory’

Hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia, Stefer Rahardian, 31, successfully protected his perfect professional mixed martial arts record on May 12, 2018. He emerged victorious after battling it out with Himanshu Kaushik, 25, of India, who made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Grit and Glory” at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta.

At “ONE: Grit and Glory,” Rahardian and Kaushik competed in the strawweight division, which is currently dominated by reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion Alex Silva of Brazil. With Yuji Shimada as the referee, the strawweight bout between Rahardian and Kaushik was the co-main event of the evening.

Shimada put a stop to the bout between Rahardian and Kaushik at 2:21 of Round 1 when the Indonesian fighter submitted his Indian opponent via rear-naked choke. This is the fourth time Rahardian won via rear-naked choke submission inside the ONE Championship cage.

Rahardian made his professional MMA debut on April 12, 2015. He submitted Wardi Suwardi via rear-naked choke at “Xtreme Cage Championsip.”

On August 26, 2016, Rahardian made a successful ONE Championship debut by submitting Yotha Hutagalung and Hendrick Wijaya both via rear-naked choke at the “ONE: Titles and Titans” preliminary fight night. Since then, Rahardian stayed in the promotion and defeated all of his next opponents.

On January 14, 2017, Rahardian defeated Jerome S. Paye at “ONE: Quest for Power.” On April 21, 2017, Rahardian defeated Eugene Toquero at “ONE: Kings of Destiny” also via unanimous decision.

On September 16, 2017, Rahardian submitted Sim Bunsrun via rear-naked choke at “ONE: Total Victory.” On January 20, 2018, Rahardian defeated Muhammad Imran via unanimous decision at “ONE: Kings of Courage.”

In the co-main event of Stefer Rahardian of Indonesia competed against Himanshu Kaushik of India in the strawweight division.

In the main event of “ONE: Grit and Glory,” Silva defended his title from former champion Yoshitaka Naito of Japan in a rematch.
