The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England on May 27, 2018 for “UFC Fight Night 130.” The first bout of the evening will be between Elias “The Spartan” Theodorou, 29, and Trevor “Hot Sauce” Smith, 37.
Theodorou and Smith will compete in the middleweight division, which is currently dominated by undisputed UFC Middleweight Champion Robert “The Reaper” Whitaker, 27, of Sydney, Australia. Both Theodorou and Smith are coming out of a unanimous decision victory.
The last time Theodorou fought in the cage was on November 18, 2017 at “UFC Fight Night 121” where he defeated Daniel Kelly, 40, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia via unanimous decision. In Smith’s most recent bout, which was at “UFC Fight Night 109” on May 28, 2017, he defeated Chris Camozzi, 31, of Englewood, Colorado, via unanimous decision.
Hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Theodorou has been competing in the UFC since 2014. He made his promotional debut on April 16, 2014 at “The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale” where he knocked out Sheldon Westcott, 33, of Alberta, Canada via punches and elbows.
Currently, Theodorou holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 14 wins and 2 losses. In the UFC, he has 6 wins and 2 losses.
Fighting out of Tukwila, Washington, Smith has 15 wins and 7 losses. He has 5 wins and 4 losses in the UFC.
When Smith made his UFC debut at “UFC on Fox 8” on July 27, 2013, he lost to Ed “Short Fuse” Herman, 37, of Portland, Oregon via split decision. Smith returned to the cage on January 15, 2014 at “UFC Fight Night 35” and had his first win in the promotion by defeating Brian “B-Hue” Houston, 31, of Omaha, Nebraska via split decision.
