Gillian Robertson vs Molly McCann at ‘UFC Fight Night 130’ in Liverpool, England

Two of the 11 bouts at the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s “UFC Fight Night 130” will be between female fighters. The first one will be between Gillian “The Savage” Robertson, 23, and Molly “Meatball” McCann, 27.

Robertson and McCann will compete in the flyweight division, which is currently dominated by reigning UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Nicco Montaño, 29, of LeChee, Arizona. The flyweight bout between Robertson and McCann will be the second match at “UFC Fight Night 130.”

Hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Robertson currently holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 4 wins and 2 losses. McCann will be her second opponent in the UFC cage.

Robertson made a successful UFC debut on December 1, 2017 at “The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale.” She submitted Emily “Spitfire” Whitmire, 27, of Hillsboro, Oregon via armbar.

When Robertson turned professional on March 11, 2016, she lost to Hannah “Queen of Sparta” Goldy, 26, of Dunedin, Florida via unanimous decision at “Square Ring Promotions: Island Fights 37.” Robertson’s first professional MMA win was a unanimous decision victory at “FFI: Blood and Sand 20,” which was over Monica Medina, 33, of Biloxi, Mississippi on August 13, 2016.

On the other hand, McCann is making her UFC debut at “UFC Fight Night 130.” She currently has 7 wins and 1 loss.

The only fighter to defeat McCann in a professional MMA bout was Vanessa “Miss Simpatia” Melo, 30, of Sao Paulo, Brazil. On November 28, 2015, Melo defeated McCann via unanimous decision at “XFC International 12.”

McCann is a Liverpool native. In her most recent bout, which took place on February 24, 2018 at “Cage Warriors 90,” she knocked out Bryony Tyrell, 38, of Southampton, Hampshire, England via punches.

Taking place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England on May 27, 2018, “UFC Fight Night 130” will be headlined by Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, 35, of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Darren Till, 25, of Liverpool. They will compete in a catchweight bout although Till came in overweight at 174.5 lbs.
