“The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin, 24, of China has nothing but good words about Danny “The King” Kingad, 22, of the Philippines. The two are scheduled to compete in the flyweight division at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China on June 23, 2018.
Ma is a highly touted Chinese mixed martial artist while Kingad is a premier flyweight combatant from the famed Team Lakay of Baguio City, Philippines. The Chinese contender sees a big reward if he plays his cards right against his Filipino opponent.
Holding a professional MMA record of 6 wins and 1 loss, Kingad is a tremendous striker with well-rounded grappling skills. The Team Lakay fighter is “so talented as a fighter,” according to Ma.
“I can say that he is exceptional for a flyweight like me,” Ma said of Kingad. “That’s why I am exerting my best effort in training. He is an opponent worthy of a good battle.”
“This match excites me,” Ma said of his three-round flyweight encounter with Kingad. The most recent opponent of the two fighters is Sotir Kichukov, 28, of Bulgaria.
On November 10, 2017, Kingad had his first professional MMA defeat after unsuccessfully challenging ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, 29, of Brazil at “ONE: Legends of the World” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. On March 9, 2018, the Team Lakay fighter rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Kichukov at “ONE: Visions of Victory” at the Axiate Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Before facing Kingad, Kichukov lost to Ma via unanimous decision at “ONE: Global Superheroes” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on January 26, 2018. It was Ma’s most recent bout in ONE Championship.
“We both faced Sotir Kichukov in ONE Championship, and we did walk away with respective victories,” Ma noted. “Honestly, I believe that I’ve done better than him against Sotir. In our ring clash this Saturday, the commitment to hone and perfect my craft will once again be in full display against Danny.”
