Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado, 25, of the Philippines owns the second quickest knockout in ONE Championship’s strawweight history. On March 24, 2018 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, he knocked out Dejdamrong “Kru Rong” Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 39, in the co-main event of “ONE: Iron Will” at 1:21 of Round 1.

After this feat, Miado did not go around and boast about beating a former ONE Strawweight World Champion. Fight fans did not even see him calling out his next opponent.

“I want people to know that I am a simple guy with a big dream and I have the goal of becoming a world champion in my division,” Miado shared. “One win at a time.”

Currently reigning as the ONE Strawweight World Champion is Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito, 34, of Japan. He regained his title from Alex “Little Rock” Silva, 35, of Brazil during their rematch on May 12, 2018 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia at “ONE: Grit and Glory.”

The impressive conquest of Amnuaysirichoke was a much needed win for Miado, who has experienced a rough start to his tenure in ONE Championship. He lost to his first two opponents in the promotion namely Robin Catalan, 27, of the Philippines and Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit, 22, of Thailand.

“All the hard work in the gym has finally paid off,” Miado said. “I am really grateful.”

Winning at “ONE: Iron Will” was a sweet victory for Miado. He said, “I felt really strong and at my peak on that night.”

“I showed everybody the real me, which I was not able to do so in my last two bouts,” Miado added. “Against my idol Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, I made sure that my performance would speak about the effort that I’ve done in training.”

After Amnuaysirichoke, Miado will face Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai, 26, on June 29, 2018 at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar in the strawweight division at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior.” Kongsrichai is a 13-time Thai national wrestling champion.

“Here we are again,” Miado stated. “Another tough challenge is on our way. To be able to compete against a highly-decorated wrestler like my next opponent, it will only be good for my experience as a martial artist.”
