Leading the ONE Championship athletes who were in attendance was reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, 33, of Myanmar.
“Every time I perform in front of my people in Myanmar, my heart is full and my soul fulfilled,” Aung stated. “As the reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion, I welcome all challengers. Those who want to come get it, come get it.”
On June 29, 2018, Aung will defend his ONE Middleweight World Champion belt from Ken Hasegawa, 31, of Japan at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon. It will be the main event of the evening.
“But this belt is staying in Myanmar, and I will do everything in my power to protect our honor,” Aung said. “This title means a lot to me and my fans, and to everyone who has supported me since day one. I will step onto the canvas this 29 June in the best shape of my career and claim victory once again in front of my friends and family back home.”
Joining Aung and Hasegawa at the “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” press conference were their fellow ONE Championship athletes Leandro Issa, Roman Alvarez, Elliot Compton and Matthew Semper, among others.
