Armen Petrosyan vs Chris Ngimbi at ‘ONE: Reign of Kings’ in Manila

A martial arts bout between Armen Petrosyan of Milan, Italy and Chris “The African Warrior” Ngimbi of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been booked for “ONE: Reign of Kings” in the Philippines. On July 27, 2018, the two will compete in a ONE Super Series kickboxing contest in a catch weight of 72.5kg.

This is the second time Ngimbi is competing in ONE Super Series. On May 18, 2018, he made his debut in ONE Championship’s striking-only league at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore where he lost to Yodsanklai Fairtex of Thailand via unanimous decision.

Before losing to Yodsanklai, Ngimbi lost to Giorgio Petrosyan, brother of Armen. Giorgio defeated Ngimbi via unanimous decision at “PetrosyanMania” on November 14, 2017 in Monza, Italy.

Currently, Ngimbi holds a professional kickboxing record of 45 wins and 25 losses while Armen has 69 wins, 17 losses and 1 draw. The latter is making his ONE Super Series debut at “ONE: Reign of Kings.”

Like Ngimbi, Armen is coming out of a loss. On January 20, 2018, the Italian kickboxer lost to Yuan Bin of China via unanimous decision at “Emei Legend.”

Prior to “Emei Legend,” Armen successfully retained the ISKA Super Welterweight Oriental Rules World Championship. On December 9, 2017, he knocked out Amansio Paraschiv via middle kick at “Bellator Kickboxing 8.”

Armen is looking to get back in the win column by overpowering Ngimbi at “ONE: Reign of Kings,” which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila like all ONE Championship events in the Philippines. This will be the third among the promotion’s four events scheduled to take place in the country in 2018 followed by “ONE: Conquest of Champions” on November 23, 2018.

Headlining “ONE: Reign of Kings” are Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, 30, of the Philippines and Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, of Australia and Vietnam. They will compete for the ONE Interim Bantamweight World Championship.
