A featherweight bout between Sor Sey, 36, of Cambodia and “The Stalker” Xie Bin, 20, of China has been booked for “ONE: Reign of Kings.” On July 27, 2018, the two mixed martial artists will compete in the featherweight division.
“ONE: Reign of Kings” marks Sey’s fourth bout in ONE Championship. He is coming out of a win at “ONE: Grit and Glory,” which took place at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.
On May 12, 2018, Sey defeated Victorio “Indra” Senduk , 37, of Indonesia via unanimous decision. The last time the Cambodian contender lost in the cage was on February 23, 2018 when he was knocked out by Phoe Thaw, 33, of Myanmar at “ONE: Quest for Gold” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Xie will be Sey’s first Chinese opponent in ONE Championship while Sey will be Xie’s second Cambodian opponent in the promotion. Both fighters hold a professional MMA record of 4 wins and 2 losses,
On April 21, 2017, Xie submitted Chan Rothana, 32, of Cambodia at “ONE: Kings of Destiny” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The Chinese fighter is riding a three-bout winning streak.
The featherweight bout between Xie and Sey will be the first bout at “ONE: Reign of Kings,” which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena like all ONE Championship events in the Philippines. The first two events of the promotion in the country in 2018 were “ONE: Global Superheroes” on January 26, 2018 and “ONE: Heroes of Honor” on April 20, 2018.
To be followed by “ONE: Conquest of Champions” on November 23, 2018, “ONE: Reign of Kings” is the third among the four events scheduled to take place in the Philippines in 2018. Headlining “ONE: Reign of Kings” are Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, 30, of the Philippines and Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, of Australia and Vietnam, who will compete for the ONE Interim Bantamweight World Championship.
