Panicos Yusuf of Cyprus and Han Zi Hao of China are scheduled to fight on July 27, 2018 at “ONE: Reign of Kings” in the Philippines. They will compete in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai bantamweight bout.
“ONE: Reign of Kings” marks the ONE Super Series debuts of Yusuf and Han. The Cypriot martial artist was originally scheduled to face Tukkatatong Petpayathai of Thailand in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai bantamweight bout at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on June 29, 2018.
However, days before “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior,” Yusuf was victimized by a hit-and-run in Thailand. He suffered deep abrasions and cuts because of the incident.
Due to the injuries, Yusuf was replaced by Mehdi “Diamond Heart” Zatout of France, who competed against Petpayathai in a ONE Super Series kickboxing welterweight bout. The French fighter lost to his Thai opponent via unanimous decision.
On the other hand, Han competed against Lumpinee stadium welterweight champion Rafi Bohic of France at “TopKing World Series 21” on June 16, 2018 in Suratthani, Thailand. After three rounds, the French champ was declared the winner by points.
Han is looking to redeem himself as he faces Yusuf at “ONE: Reign of Kings,” which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila like all ONE Championship events in the Philippines. The first two events of the promotion in the country in 2018 were “ONE: Global Superheroes” on January 26, 2018 and “ONE: Heroes of Honor” on April 20, 2018.
“ONE: Reign of Kings” is the third among the four events scheduled to take place in the country in 2018. It will be followed by “ONE: Conquest of Champions” on November 23, 2018.
Headlining “ONE: Reign of Kings” are Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, 30, of the Philippines and Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, of Australia and Vietnam, who will compete for the ONE Interim Bantamweight World Championship.
Yusuf, a UK Muay Thai World Champion, was featured in “Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series” Season 1 episode 8. Watch it here:
