The 2018 Asian Games will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia and Palembang, Indonesia from August 18, 2018 to September 2, 2018. It is the 18th edition of the continental multi-sport event regulated by the Asian Games Federation.
On July 13, 2018, the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee, the Recording Industry Association of Indonesia and the Jagonya Musik & Sport record label released the official music album for the 2018 Asian Games. It is titled “Energy of Asia: Official Album of Asian Games 2018“.
The album consists of 13 songs including “Meraih Bintang” (Reach for The Stars) by Via Vallen, 27, “Be Alright” by Afgan, 29, and “Asia’s Who We Are” by Isyana Sarasvati, 25. A total of 18 Indonesian musicians were featured in the album.
Vallen was born Maulidia Octavia in Surabaya, Indonesia. Her song “Meraih Bintang” is the theme song of the 2018 Asian Games.
Afgan was born Afgansyah Reza in Jakarta to Loyd Yahya and Lola Purnama. They are of Minangkabau descent.
Sarasvati was born in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. On September 2, 2018, she will sing “Asia’s Who We Are” at the 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony in Jakarta.
