Featuring 11 bouts, “ONE: Reign of Kings” is the third of the four ONE Championship events scheduled in the Philippines in 2018. On the fight card were eight mixed martial arts bouts and three matches under the promotion’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.

The fifth bout of the evening was a striking bout between Panicos Yusuf, 33, of Cyprus and Han Zi Hao, 23, of China. They competed in a Muay Thai contest in ONE Super Series in the bantamweight division.

Yusuf is a former ONE Warrior Series entrant. At “ONE: Reign of Kings,” he had his hand raised by referee Atsushi Onari as he earned a unanimous decision victory over Han after a grueling three-round affair.

The ONE Super Series Muay Thai bantamweight contest between Yusuf and Han was the first bout on the main card of “ONE: Reign of Series.” It was second ONE Super Series match of the evening.

Operating behind a sound game plan and well-placed strikes, Yusuf countered Han consistently with a myriad of combinations off the back foot. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favor of the Cypriot martial artist.

Before joining ONE Super Series, Yusuf was a prospect for “Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series” Season 1. He did not earn a spot in the series of ONE Championship’s subsidiary but he was picked to compete for the promotion’s striking-only league.

After defeating Han at “ONE: Reign of Kings,” Yusuf improved his professional record to 37 wins and 6 losses. Han is a Top King Muay Thai World Champion.

The press conference for “ONE: Reign of Kings” took place at the City of Dreams Manila in Paranaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines on July 24, 2018. The fight night took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila on July 27, 2018.
