Indonesia’s Brata Kartasasmita is new Mister Universe Tourism 2018; Ion Perez resigns

Brata Manggala Putra Kartasasmita of Indonesia has been crowned Mister Universe Tourism 2018. Benigno “Ion” Dungo Perez of the Philippines originally held the title.

On May 29, 2018, Kartasasmita and Perez competed against 18 other Mister Universe Tourism 2018 candidates at Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is the second edition of the international beauty pageant for men.

Perez won the title as well as the Best in Swimwear award. Runner-up to Perez was Kartasasmita, who also won the Best in Festival Costume award.

Avjeet Singh Ramdhawa of India was second runner-up. Keoni Kane Jastillana of Guam and Nitat Na Wayo of Thailand finished in the Top 5.

Jacob Bronan Thien of Sabah won the Best in Formal Wear and Mister Photogenic awards. Kyaw Ye Htet of Myanmar won the Best Tourism Video award.

Recently, Perez gave up the Mister Universe Tourism 2018 title so it was given to Kartasasmita. Ramdhawa and Jastillana became the new first and second runners-up, respectively.

On October 11, 2018, Kartasasmita will travel from Jakarta, Indonesia to Metro Manila. On October 16, 2018, he will attend the Mister Universe Tourism Philippines 2018 coronation ceremony at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of RCBC Plaza in Makati City, Metro Manila.

On November 25, 2019, Kartasasmita will go back to the Carlos P. Romulo Theater of RCPC Plaza to crown his successor. Ten candidates are expected to compete for the title.
