
Fighting out of Victorville, California, United States, Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes, 28, won in his most recent bout in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It was his fourth victory in the promotion.
Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches, the UFC held “UFC 229” at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, United States on October 6, 2018. In the 10th bout of the evening, Reyes competed in the light heavyweight division against Ovince “OSP” St. Preux, 35, of Knoxville, Tennessee, United States.
The light heavyweight bout between Reyes and St. Preux was left in the hands of the judges after three five-minute rounds. In the end, referee Dan Miragliotta raised the hand of the contender from Victorville as the winner via unanimous decision.
“UFC 229” marked Reyes’s fourth UFC bout. The first three opponents he defeated in the promotion were Joachim Christensen, Jeremy Kimball and Jared Cannonier.
By defeating St. Preux at “UFC 229,” Reyes improved his professional mixed martial arts record to 10 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, St. Preux’s record downgraded to 23 wins and 12 losses.
In the co-main event of the evening, Tony “El Cucy” Ferguson, 34, of Oxnard, California, United States and Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, 31, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States competed in the lightweight division. After two five-minute rounds, the Californian contender was declared the winner via technical knockout corner stoppage.
In the main event, Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, 30, of Dagestan, Russia defended his UFC Lightweight Championship belt for the first time. Former champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor, 30, of Dublin, Ireland challenged the Dagestani reigning champion.
