Jerwin Ancajas vs Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in ONE Super Series?

International Boxing Federation Super Flyweight World Champion Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas, 26, of Panabo, Davao del Norte, Philippines was a special guest during the first ever ONE Championship boxing bout. It was between reigning World Boxing Council Super Flyweight World Champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, 31, of Sisaket, Thailand and his challenger Iran “MagnifiKO” Diaz, 28, of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico.

Signed with Nakornloung Promotion, Srisaket defeated Diaz via unanimous decision after 12 rounds of boxing action in the main event of “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” on October 6, 2018 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Being arguably the two of the best pugilists in the 115-pound weight class today, Ancajas and Srisaket appear to be headed for a collision course.

For Ancajas, it is only a matter of when and where. With regards to where the match will take place, the Panabo native stressed that he is open to wherever the discussions will take them.

“I am willing to fight anywhere,” Ancajas stated. “If we come back to Thailand and fight there, no problem. If we end up in the United States, then good for the both of us.”

“If we can all find a way for Top Rank and ONE Championship to work together and promote the unification bout in the Philippines, my home country, (it will be) even better,” Ancajas added. He believes that a bout against the reigning WBC Super Flyweight World Champion will be something that can shock the boxing world.

“That has the potential of being a really big fight, maybe the biggest fight in the super flyweight division even,” the reigning IBF Super Flyweight World Champion said. “Definitely, we’d like to sit down with his camp and finally discuss it to get the ball rolling.”

Srisaket’s masterful dismantling of Diaz thrilled thousands of martial arts fans present at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” and it was also enough to earn the praise of a very interested observer. With regards to what he saw that night, Ancajas had nothing but good things to say about the Thai boxing superstar.

Ancajas has successfully retained his IBF crown six times. He is coming off a split draw against Alejandro Santiago “Peque” Barrios, 22, of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico on September 28, 2018.
