Representing Japan, actor Kenta Nagai, 27, is one of the bachelors from around the world who will compete for the Mister World 2019 title. He is 6’1” tall.
Nagai hails from Fukuoka, Japan. Japanese foods mentaiko, Hakata ramen and motsunabe are associated with the city, which holds several annual festivals including Hakata Dontaku and Hakata Gion Yamakasa.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from Yokohama National University in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, Nagai went to Tokyo, Japan and worked as an actor. He acted at at Tokyo One Piece Tower, an indoor theme park for the Japanese manga series “One Piece.”
While in Tokyo, Nagai served at the Expo Festival and Senior Citizen Homes as a Japanese dance teacher to young and elderly disabled people. When a series of earthquakes struck Kumamoto, Japan in April 2016, he undertook earthquake recovery volunteer work.
Eventually, Nagai moved to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. After studying at a language school and passing the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, he worked as an actor in the capital of New South Wales.
As an actor, Nagai loves sword battle acting and he aspires to make it to Hollywood someday. His favor sports are soccer, rugby and baseball.
In October 2018, Nagai was crowned Mr. World Japan. He succeeded Yuki Sato, 23, of Tokyo.
Sato did not place in Mister World 2016, which was held in Southport, England. He made it to the Top 12 in the Southport pier challenge, one of the sports and extreme events.
Mr. World 2019 Rohit Khandelwal, 29, of India will crown his successor during the Mr. World 2019 coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on August 23, 2019. It will be the 10th edition of the international male beauty pageant.
Mr. World 2019 marks the first time the pageant is held in the Philippines. If Nagai wins the crown, he will be the pageant’s second titleholder from Japan.
