Fighting out of Gorizia, Italy, Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan, 32, has earned his second victory in ONE Super Series. He competed in the striking-only league of ONE Championship for the second time on November 9, 2018 at “ONE: Heart of the Lion,” which took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
“ONE: Heart of the Lion” featured nine mixed martial arts matches, three Muay Thai bouts and one kickboxing contest. The only kickboxing bout of the evening was between Petrosyan and Sorgraw Petchyindee Academy, 25, of Prakhon Chai, Buriram, Thailand.
Petrosyan and Sorgraw competed at a catch weight of 71 kg. It was the 11th bout of the evening.
After three three-minute rounds, the kickboxing contest between Petrosyan and Sorgraw was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, referee Atsushi Onari raised the hand of the fighter from Gorizia, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Heart of the Lion” improved Petrosyan’s professional kickboxing record to 98 wins, 2 losses, 2 draws and 1 No Contest. His first ONE Super Series bout took place on April 20, 2018 at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
At “ONE: Heroes of Honor,” Petrosyan faced “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 28, of Thailand and the United States in a kickboxing contest at a catch weight of 70kg. After three three-minute rounds, the Gorizia resident was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
One of the Muay Thai bouts at “ONE: Heart of the Lion” was between Nattawut and George Mann, 19, of Scotland, United Kingdom. In a featherweight bout, the Thai-American fighter defeated his Scottish opponent via unanimous decision.
Nattawut is a former Lion Fight and World Muaythai Council (WMC) Super Welterweight Champion. Originally from Korat, Thailand, he is now a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
Petrosyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia on December 10, 1985. He was 13 years old when he and his family moved to Italy.
