After going in hiatus for almost 10 months, Tiffany “No Chill” Teo, 29, of Singapore recently returned to the ONE Championship cage. It was a triumphant comeback for her as she earned her fifth victory in the promotion.
Teo was an undefeated mixed martial artist from 2016 to 2017. She made her ONE Championship debut on November `11, 2016 at “ONE: Defending Honor” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore where she submitted Walaa “Katyusha” Abbas Mohamed Kamaly of Egypt via rear-naked choke in the second round.
In 2017, Teo defeated three opponents in ONE Championship consecutively. On February 10, 2017, she defeated Priscilla “Thathi” Hertati Lumban Gaol, 30, of Jakarta, Indonesia via unanimous decision at “ONE: Throne of Tigers” at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Also via unanimous decision, Rebecca “The Professor” Heintzman, 32, of Binghamton, New York, United States lost to Teo at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes” on May 26, 2017 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. On November 24, 2017, the Singaporean fighter competed once again at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and knocked out Pooja Tomar of Muzaffernaga, India via punches in the first round at “ONE: Immortal Pursuit.”
On January 20, 2018, Teo competed for the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Championship. She battled it out with “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 30, of Shandong, China at “ONE: Kings of Courage” at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.
For the first time, Teo lost in a professional MMA bout. In the main event of “ONE: Kings of Courage,” she was knocked out via punches in the fourth round by Xiong, who is the reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion.
Xiong was supposed to defend her ONE Women’s Strawweight World Championship title from ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 22, of Singapore in the main event of “ONE: : Heart of the Lion” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on November 9, 2018. However, the bout was cancelled because the Singaporean challenger was deemed not fit to compete due to injury.
Competing in ONE Championship for the sixth time, Teo was one of the two fighters who represented Singapore at “ONE: Heart of the Lion.” In the 10th bout of the evening, she faced Michelle Nicolini, 36, of Sao Paulo, Brazil in the women’s strawweight division.
After three five-minute rounds, the strawweight bout between Teo and Nicolini was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, referee Olivier Coste raised the hand of the Singaporean contender, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
