Thailand’s Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke earns 9th ONE Championship win

Fighting out of Trang, Thailand, martial arts veteran Dejdamrong “Kru Rong” Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 40, has been competing in ONE Championship since 2014. Recently, he earned his ninth victory in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion.

In 2014, Dejdamrong defeated four opponents. He knocked out Joseph “Jomanz Omanz” Omana, 28, of Cebu, Philippines via knees at “ONE: Era of Champions,” submitted Ali “Captain Malaysia” Yaakub, 34, of Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Selangaor, Malaysia via rear-naked choke at “ONE: Reign of Champions,” submitted Saiful “The Vampire” Merican, 29, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via armbar at “ONE: Roar of Tigers” and knocked out Rene “The Challenger” Catalan, 39, of Iloilo, Philippines via knee at “ONE: Warrior’s Way.”

In 2015, Dejdamrong defeated Roy “The Dominator” Doliguez, 36, of Saranggani, Philippines at “ONE: Warrior’s Quest” and Yayo “Codorninha” Bryan, 26, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at “ONE: Pride of Lions” both via unanimous decision. By defeating Doliguez, Dejdamrong became the inaugural ONE Strawweight World Champion.

In 2016, Dejdamrong lost the ONE Strawweight World Championship lost to Yoshitaka Naito. The latter submitted the Thai fighter via rear-naked choke at “ONE: Kingdom of Champions.”

Two ONE Championship athletes lost to Dejdamrong in 2017. The former ONE Strawweight World Champion knocked out Adrian “Papua Badboy” Matheis, 25, of Jakarta, Indonesia via punch at “ONE: Dynasty of Heroes” and Robin “Ilonggo” Catalan, 28, of Iloilo, Philippines via knees at “ONE: Quest for Greatness.”

On November 9, 2018, Dejdamrong competed in ONE Championship for the 13th time. He faced Himanshu Kaushik, 26, of Delhi, India at “ONE: Heart of the Lion,” which took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

“ONE: Heart of the Lion” featured nine mixed martial arts matches, three Muay Thai bouts and one kickboxing contest. In the fifth bout of the evening, Dejdamrong and Kaushik competed in an MMA match in the strawweight division.

Referee Kemp Cheng put a stop to the strawweight bout between Dejdamrong and Kaushik at 4:45 in the second round. The Thai fighter submitted his Indian opponent via rear-naked choke.
