Professionally known as Egi Rozten, Eka Aprilianto, 30, of Jakarta, Indonesia has earned his second victory in ONE Championship. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Warrior’s Dream,” which marked his third bout in the Singapore-based martial arts organization.
Featuring three ONE Super Series striking contests and 11 mixed martial arts matches, “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” took place on November 17, 2018 at the Stadium Istora in Jakarta. In the seventh bout of the evening, Rozten competed in an MMA match the strawweight division against Eddey “The Clown” Kalai, 30, of Sabah, Malaysia.
In the first round, Rozten notched a thrilling knockout of Kalai, which drew cheers from the hometown crowd. The two boxing stylists were expected to put on a striking performance, but the Malaysian contender surprisingly took matters to the ground in the opening moments.
But back up on the feet, Rozten would shine and land a powerful overhand right that turned the lights out on Kalai. After 3 minutes and 15 seconds in the first round, referee Yuji Shimada stepped in to call a halt to the contest.
This is the fifth consecutive loss of Kalai, who has yet to score a professional MMA win. On the other hand, winning at “ONE: Warrior’s Dream” improved Rozten’s professional MMA record to 5 wins and 1 loss.
Rozten made his ONE Championship debut on January 20, 2018 at “ONE: Kings of Courage” at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta. He failed to get his first promotional win as he was knocked out by Riski “Kong” Umar, 25, of Ternate, Indonesia.
On September 22, 2018, Rozten returned to the Jakarta Convention Center for his rematch with Umar at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes.” The Jakarta native redeemed himself by knocking out his Malaysian opponent.
